No server issues?

Ok, so after some hard work the server is up and running for now. Im not sure what the problem was, but the server is working fine again so we'll just wait and see how time affects it.

Besides this, the server have been updated to the latest reccomended build CB #1060 and most of the plugins have been updated aswell, although its not much anyone will notice with these changes.

Server issues

Sorry guys, but we have a small problem with our map these days. I cant really say what it is or whats causing it, but we will have to survive with the temp server until this gets sorted out. I will do my best to save the old map and the last thing I would want to do is to swap it out.

Run Minecraft 64-bit Tutorial

If you have a 64-bit windows you can take advantage of it by running Minecraft in 64-bit just follow the instructions below, I am not sure if it boasts any performance at all.

Download 64-bit java and install it.

Download Minecraft.jar file and place it anywhere you wish.

Create a new windows shortcut to run minecraft or just copy and paste this "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame with the quotations in run to execute Minecraft and you can skip the following steps.

Set "Target" to "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

Set "Start in" to be where the .jar file is. Example "C:\Minecraft"

Optional to set "Run" to Minimized

Optianal to "Change Icon" then browse and select minecraft.exe icon.
Optianal to increase memory usage for Minecraft change the first -Xms parameter to something higher.

Builder of the month

Everyone logon to the server, pick up your tools and start building cause we are starting polls for Builder of the month and week, the winners will be selected by all the players/visitors on the server by polling on the server blog, whoever wins the Builder of the month will be awarded 10,000 coins and the Builder of the week will be awarded 5,000 coins, in addition his/her build will be featured on the server blog with screenshots and also those screenshots will be added to the server highlight gallery, the nominees are the players who actively and currently play on the server. Builder of the month poll will end on the 30th of each month and builder of the week poll will end Sunday night. May the best builder win.

New Plugin

We got a new plugin today, XSigns, its really just some simple redstone functions added to the otherwise boring signs. Handy for those who need it.

Upgrades

After some downtime today, and well the two days before this, its now up and running permanently.
The server have been suffering with lag and other minor issues the past weeks, witch is nothing else than sad.
The server hardware is updated a bit, with a new SSD (crucial M4 64GB) as the main disk for OS and such.
This of course includes a fresh install of Windows 7 and finally Java 7 x64.
The RAM limit for the server have been bumped up to 3GB from the 1.5GB we had before.

Let me know if theres any problems.

Oh yes, my skillful cable selection yesterday turned out to be a success, The server is now up and running again.

Server downtime

Sorry guys, I got a problem with my internet connection.
A fiber patch cable have been broken for a while now, the temporary solution to this had been bending it just correctly making the connection it needed, I was sure I had all time in the world to get a new one.
So I turned my head to ebay for a new patching cable, bought one just a few days ago, knowing that everything worked just fine.
Of course the cable failed sometime yesterday and after several attempts bending and twisting this poor thin fiber thing, I had to give up. There was no chance saving my internet.

I managed to order another cable today, through my job, witch should be here tomorrow. I simply can't wait for the one I got off ebay.

So unless I made a total ass off myself, buying the wrong cable or something, the server should be up and running around 16:00-17:00 gmt0 tomorrow.
