And there we are!

Yes, it seems like things are working nicely.
The server have been updated to the latest recommended build (#1240) witch means MC 1.8.1 support finally.

With this update we have changed a few things, the most important change is the new permission system, although few of you will notice this too much.

Besides that, all plugins are updated to the newest versions, where this was impossible I found something else to replace it with.
The new plugin list looks like this:

The main changes here is the removal of command costs, the global shop have been replaced by an global command based community shop where everyone can sell and buy things from each other with commands.
For the rare items we will instead set up a few chest shops around the spawn area to replace the functionallity of the old global shop.
The plugins CommandSigns and ColorSigns were removed, I don't think many of you ever used them or even knew we had them available. instead we got QuickSign now that allows you to edit signs and add some color to them for extended fanciness.
Thats the most important things to know so far. for the mods there is a few new things with promotion and such, and we don't have a help system to guide people. I apologize for that.
Ill look into getting a different help plugin later.

OK, everything should be transferred; homes, warps, protected areas, money and such. let me know if there is a mistake made here.
There is a new map render torrent too, please look in the downloads area and check it out, it was a complete failure last time and I can only hope its working better now.

Time for changes?

Hello everyone.

Just to fill the blog with some mildly useful information, I can tell you that the process of updating the server to 1.8.1 have started now again. This is now the second time I start updating the server to 1.8.1 and I can only hope its going better this time.

This turned out to be alot more work than what we had with previous updates, as many of our plugins have died out and has to be replaced with something new and similar, or removed completely in some cases.

From what I can see so far, this is going great. Many things work nicely already, so it doesn't have to be that long until you all see a server update, I guess we are something like 30% completed with everything by now and I started this evening.

Also a little note here at the end, although most updates with the 1.8 seems nice enough, I really don't think the void fog area around the bottom of the map was a very thoughtful change to the game as it practically ruins everything built below block 20 or something like that. Sadly I cant do anything about that and we will have to either live with it or modify our clients (witch I know I will).
